Our Story

Developed by U.S. Olympic medalist and U.S. Speedskating Hall of Fame member Kip Carpenter — a two-time Olympian (2002, 2006) who has been involved in every Winter Olympics since 1998 as athlete or coach — Carpenter Boot Company builds high-performance short and long track boots from elite skating and coaching experience. Custom boots began as Kip’s hobby around 2008. CBC is family-run and Carpenter family–owned and aims to be the world’s leading stock/standard boot brand.

About Kip Carpenter

Kip Carpenter is a U.S. Olympic medalist and member of the U.S. Speedskating Hall of Fame. A two-time Olympian (2002, 2006), he has been involved in every Winter Olympics since 1998 as an athlete or coach.

Since about 2014, Kip has worked with the Dutch short track program as an assistant coach and equipment technician, bringing elite skating and coaching experience into CBC boot design and fit.

Carpenter Boot Company is family-run and Carpenter family–owned. Custom boots began as Kip’s hobby around 2008; today CBC aims to be the world’s leading stock/standard boot brand, with a U.S. focus. For Europe, see shorttrackequipment.com.
