CBC GENESIS Long Track

Perfect balance of forefoot flexion and ankle rigidity

The CBC GENESIS Long Track is engineered to provide the perfect balance between controlled flexion in the metatarsal/forefoot area and exceptional rigidity in the ankle.

This optimal balance is achieved through advanced multi-composite layup techniques and a dynamic arch support system. Forefoot flexion allows the skater to effectively compress the first metatarsal during push-off, enabling smoother directional changes on straightaways.

A heavy-duty water-resistant zipper with locking pull ensures secure closure during performance. With 100% Thermo-CSC construction, the GENESIS molds to the foot for a near-custom fit. Designed for both sprint and distance events, it delivers high-performance versatility for serious long track skaters.

Fit Philosophy

Built on CBC’s proprietary World’s Best Fitting Last, the GENESIS Long Track is engineered from over a decade of elite foot-scan data to deliver superior out-of-the-box comfort and performance for long track specialists.

Insider Info from Carpenter Boot Company: Getting the fit right

Many skaters choose our GENESIS for the rigidity and support of its full carbon shell, and that support only works when the fit is right.

  • Between two sizes? Go up. If your measurements fall between two sizes, always choose the larger size.
  • Snug in the front is by design. Our Standard last is intentionally narrow in the forefoot. That helps prevent "booting out", where the boot touches the ice in the corners. It can feel tight at first, which is why many skaters wear thin nylon socks or pantyhose. Most people can't fit a CBC boot with a thick cotton sock. If you wear anything thicker than a thin nylon sock, consider the larger size.
  • Standard or Wide? A foot wider than about 100 mm (10 cm) is generally considered wide, and above about 105 mm it definitely is. Beyond that, width is largely a preference: wider boots are often more comfortable because the foot feels less confined.

Insider Info from Carpenter Boot Company: Molding and breaking in

  • When heat molding is worth it (ELEMENT and GENESIS only). On our heat-moldable models, pain around the ankle bones is the classic reason to mold. Molding won't add length, so it can't fix a boot that's too short. Molding is optional and the skater's choice; if you decide to mold, have it done by a professional, and know that any heat molding voids the manufacturer warranty. (The ONYX is not heat-moldable.)
  • Give it about 10 sessions. New boots take roughly 10 sessions to break in. During that time, keep the top of the boot looser, especially the top laces and the Velcro, so your knees can come forward. Don't overtighten at the top early on.
